Last year,I had an interesting word when I took the seminar conducted by
Ms. L. Edelkoort (TREND UNION), known as a pioneer of trend forecast in the world.
Landscape Design…
She mentioned this word would mean a new design that removes a border of exterior and interior rather than an ordinary landscape design as scenery design. I feel a connection with exterior while existing in interior. Or, it implies an integrated design.
People are accepting those various landscape designs so far. They put houseplants, hang scenery paintings, and also place furniture made out of wooden materials in interior. A technique, design, and functionality of borrowed landscape garden that are seen in the old Japanese style house could also be a representative example of the landscape designing that she mentioned.
Yoshitake dental clinic, opened in Tanba-city of Hyogo prefecture Japan, which was produced and designed by Designer Mr. Kiyoto Kondo (G.I.Coordinate Office Inc).
Green rich garden, extending to the big window in front of the examination tables. And the wooden veneered wall_panel (Japanese knotty Oak / VIVO vernish style) creates natural innocence.
Comforting natural landscape jumps into the view of nervous patients and eventually relaxes their minds.
The clinic director’s room also can be seen from anybody and is located in the center of the clinic without any doors or wall_panels, together with a solid function of “Control Tower” by creating atmosphere for “Amiable doctor” as patients easily can talk to him, together with a solid function of “Control Tower” located in the center of the clinic.
Outside landscape, natural veneered wall and the barrier_free room plan.
Those connect between interior and exterior and relives a human mind either at the same time.

That's the "Designing" approach by Designer Kondo's original works.

この言葉は、景観デザインという従来のランドスケープデザインではなく
外と内の境界を外す新たなるデザインを示すと言う。
屋内に居ながら屋外との結びつきを感じる。または一体化したデザインを示唆する。
人は、今まで様々な形でこのランドスケープデザインを取り入れようとしてきた。
屋内に観葉植物を置いたり、風景画を飾ったり、木質系素材の家具を置いたり。。。
古来の日本家屋に見られる借景庭園の技法も、意匠的、機能的にも
彼女の言うランドスケープデザインの代表的な一例であろう。
ここ日本にもエーデルコート女史の予測を先駆けるデザインがある。
兵庫県丹波市に開設された近藤清人氏（Ｇ.Ｉ.コーディネートオフィス）プロデュースの吉竹歯科。
診察台の前の大窓に広がる緑豊かな庭園。
そしてナチュラルな無垢感を演出する木パネル（ＶＩＶＯ楢 ブライトトバーニッシュ仕様）。
診察台で緊張する患者の視界には、自然の風景が飛び込み、こころを落ち着かせてくれる。
また診察ブースが並ぶ廊下の真ん中に位置する院長室も壁やドアで仕切られていないオープンブース。
院長室は誰からもよく見え、声のかけやすい「親しみやすい先生」を演出するとともに医院の真ん中に位置する「指令塔」の機能もしっかり持つ。
内と外をつなぐ。。。。
景観や室内のバリアーを外し、また、先生と患者さんとのバリアーをも外すことで
院内の雰囲気を優しく和らげる。
まさにエーデルコート女史の示すランドスケープデザインの実例と言えよう。
ランドマークデザイン。
デザインは造形意匠を重んじる時代から人の心を重んじる時代へ。
近藤氏の得意とするデザインアプローチである。
